CONFIG is Figma's annual design conference, where the Community gets together for two days to learn about new feature releases from Figma and hear talks from industry leaders. Last year, Figma launched:

There were actually so many ✨ insightful ✨  sessions that revolved around building a community-centric product that brings customer delight 🖤

Highlighting my favorite session from each day, I wanted to share some learnings and takeaways from the conference:

Putting Joy on the Roadmap:

Fun Fact: I brought the Polaroid widget as a mini activity to my team while sharing some product learnings from this session which made it extra memorable for them.

Why should we build what we build:

  1. Customers: all crafts should be customer obsessed.
  2. Service: He took the word service very literally and shared that we should all understand how our product can provide a service to our customers
    1. Ex: Make a great design tool vs help people design better
  3. Shape: Look at building each feature like a part of the puzzle. I personally really echo this bullet as I personally believe a brilliant product is simple yet powerful in solving a specific user need.

I am very glad to be part of this empathy-filled community for the two days and would 100% take all the learning to my day-to-day as a Product Manager no matter where I go 🤍
